Homemade Favorites Salad Dressings

Thousand Island Dressing Homemade Avocado Dressing
In bowl mix:
1 cup mayonnaise salad dressing
(store brand or homemade)
2 tbsp. minced stuffed olives
2 tbsp. chile sause
1 tbsp. chopped green pepper
1 tbsp. minced onion
1/4 cup heavy cream
Store refrigerated
In bowl combine and beat:
1 tbsp. lemon juice
2 tbsp. rich cream
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. mustard
5 drops Tabasco sauce
Beat mixture well
Add 3/4 cup sieved avocado
Beat well again
Chill and store refrigerated
Russian Salad Dressing Creamy Cucumber Dressing
In bowl add 1 cup mayonnaise
Drain:
1/4 cup chili sauce and 1/4 cup india relish
(relish substitute chopped celery,pimiento and peppers)
Add to mayonnaise with 1 tsp. sugar
Mix well Chill and serve
Seed and pare 1 medium cucumber
Chop cucumber until fine
Drain well
Whip 1/2 cup heavy cream until stiff
Add while constantly beating
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. lemon juice
1/4 tsp. paprika
Fold in the cucumber chill and serve
Igredients for Spiced Vinegar 1 1/2 Gal. Preparing Spiced Vinegar
Spiced Vinager Igredients:
1/4 allspice
1/4 cup whole cloves
2 tbsp. mace
3 tbsp. celery seed
3 tbsp. turmeric
5 tbsp. whole black pepper
1/4 cup mustard seed
3 tbsp. white ginger root
2 cups sugar
1 1/2 gallons cider vinegar
Pure prepared mixture into 1 qt. fruit jars
Add 1 sliced clove garlic to each jar
Ready in 3 weeks
A delicious mixture flavored with
whole or ground spices.If ground
spices are used filter vinegar before
it is used.
Combine ingredients and
heat slowly to just below boiling point.
Then pour into 1 qt. fruit jars,add 1
sliced garlic clove to each jar.Seal
jars and store in cool place.Your
vinegar will be ready in 3 weeks.
Execellent for use in your homemade
salad dressings.
